Tour Social Media Manager (Contract Position)

It’s an exciting time to join us at Pumpspotting as we’re hitting the road on cross-country summer tour in a 36-foot school bus called the Breast Express. We’re looking for a creative, insights driven, obsessively organized contract social media manager to be our national tour storyteller!

Help us think big and go big! This Tour Social Media Manager is a contract position for someone comfortable playing (and pumped for!) a very on-the-road role — creating social video content (with our founder and team), managing social channels and strategy, supporting podcast video and interviews, and working closely with brand partners on the Breast Express tour–all from the road in 13+ cities from July-October 2024 and based from home outside of those travel dates.

You'll be our main storyteller, mama-meeter, brand representative, social growth champion, and point person on all things social media strategy and execution.

You’d report to our VP of Brand Ops to take Pumpspotting's social media, content, and partnerships efforts to the next level — making Pumpspotting the leader in community-centric nursing and pumping support technology.

You can manage (and launch) social channels with a keen eye for details, voice, and visuals.

We’re on Instagram, TikTok, and Linkedin, and eager to meaningfully grow our reach across all channels with you!

Your main focus would be content creation in line with our brand voice, goals, and company strategy. You'd be hyperfocused on using the power of our journey to excite, engage, and drive growth on board the bus, on our app, and on social. You'd own our entire social media presence — strategy, calendar, posting, weekly reporting, analytics, and sponsor partner content approvals.

The key focus will be the real-time daily documentation of this tour - capturing, creating, and posting on the fly - driving the day to day on Instagram and Tik Tok. We expect social to be an ebb and flow between on-the-clock content sharing while we're live, about 3-4 days a week, combined with downtime for editing, batching, and restoring.

Taking a giant boob bus on the road is no ordinary journey. So we're looking for a team member pumped about being part of a fast-moving, experience-driven opportunity. (And all that brings!) You love travel, you're enthused to interact with some of the best brands around, and you are eager to go all in on a hands-on experience bursting with creative content opportunity and potential to elevate. Like any good road trip, there will be moments of hustle and moments of downtime to enjoy the vistas. There will be flexibility on the road, community connections, and an ability to be part of a moment in time not replicated elsewhere.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and visual communication skills. We're looking for real content creation chops - you've crafted compelling social media content in all its forms.

  • Social media management experience — please include a proven track record/examples of brands and channels you’ve managed before.

  • Social video creation experience and examples — we’d like to see some of the high-performing video content you’ve created for brands or for your own passion projects/accounts.

  • Able to navigate between long-term content planning and short-term, in the moment content creation, ensuring the brand voice and storyline carry through.

  • Self-starter + team-player — we’re a small team, with roll-up-our-sleeves and make the magic happen energy and need you to be, too!

  • Love of a road trip! Otherwise known as enthusiasm for travel and meeting new people – this will be an on-the-road position from July to October 2024, and you'll find yourself in 13+ major cities (hands up if you find this awesomely exciting!).

Time commitment:

  • July 2024 (20 hours/week): Tour pre-promotion and growth of pumpspotting social media community

  • August - mid October, 2024 (~40 hours/week): Live tour, requiring travel throughout the country alongside the Breast Express Bus and full coverage of all events and fun "road-trip" moments along the way!

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a social media strategy to promote the bus tour and engage with our audience.

  • Create compelling content for Instagram and TikTok, including photos, videos, and stories, that showcase the tour experience and drive engagement for pumpspotting and our Sponsor Partners.

  • Collaborate with our partner sponsors to create co-branded content that highlights their involvement in the tour, and measure and report results.

  • Monitor social media channels for trends and opportunities to increase engagement.

  • Manage social media advertising campaigns to promote the tour and partner sponsors.

  • Manage communications with our audience, including responding to comments and messages promptly.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Lactation and VP of Brand Ops to ensure that social media content and engagement aligns with company values of inclusivity, safety, and non-judgmental support, and that any lactation advice is medically reviewed by Director of Lactation

  • Travel the country with the tour from late July through tour end in October 2024.

  • Reports to VP of Brand Ops to analyze social media metrics to track the success of our campaigns and identify areas for improvement.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Growth in social media following on Instagram and TikTok.

  • Engagement rate on social media posts, including likes, comments, and shares.

  • Reach of social media posts, measured by impressions and views.

  • Positive sentiment in audience interactions on social media.


Specific Deliverables:

  • Social media content calendar outlining planned posts and content themes.

  • High-quality photos and videos for Instagram and TikTok, showcasing the tour and partner sponsors.

  • Co-branded content with partner sponsors, approved and posted according to schedule.

  • Regular reports on social media metrics, including growth, engagement, and reach.

  • Communications plan for interacting with our audience on social media, including response guidelines and escalation procedures.

  • Photos and videos catalogued throughout the tour
